"The Prime Minister conveyed profound condolences over the loss of lives in the collision between a train and a bus at a railway crossing in Cumilla," Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly told BSS this afternoon.

Following a recent train accident in Bogura, the premier has instructed authorities concerned to immediately determine the causes behind the latest incident, which occurred late Saturday night.

He has already held multiple discussions with the concerned ministry officials and local administration regarding the accident.

The premier also directed them to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and to provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased.

He further stated that thorough investigations will be conducted into the train-bus collision, and exemplary legal action will be taken against those found responsible for any negligence in each incident.

Three committees have already been formed to investigate the Cumilla rail accident. The railway authorities have constituted two committees, while another has been formed by the district administration of Cumilla.

All committees have been instructed to submit their reports within the next 72 hours. Action has already been taken against several individuals for negligence, and further steps will be taken based on the investigation reports.
